I think The Square and Raw will be my two priorities. Anything else I can get to will be a bonus.

Two weeks ago I might've rolled my eyes at Phantom Thread doing so well, but having now seen the film and deeply regretting it not being all over my ballot I'm happy to see it in so many categories.

I believe this marks the first time that two films with female directors have competed against each other for Best Debut Feature (Julia Ducournau's Raw and Greta Gerwig's Lady Bird) — though in the inaugural Filmspots in 2007, Away from Her (Sarah Polley) and Waitress (Adrienne Shelly) were both nominated for Debut or Breakthrough Feature, losing to The Lives of Others (Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck).

edit: I'm not used to the "Past Results" thread spanning a second page, so I overlooked 2016, when Mustang (directed by Deniz Gamze Ergüven) and The Fits (directed by Anna Rose Holmer) competed for Best Debut Feature (losing to The Witch, directed by Roberts Eggers).

Edited.

Pretty happy with the nominees overall. Excited to catch up on some foreign language movies and some overlooked stuff.

Great job, pixote ... your efforts deserve a larger audience/sample size.

I think I did that right. Here's last year's percentages, for comparison.

Great job, pixote ... your efforts deserve a larger audience/sample size.

Thanks!

Thanks for the presentation, pixote.

- Almost my entire ballot was covered by the first three posts (the ones about films only on one or two ballots).
- Those who know my viewing habits may find it funny that I've seen only one of the Non-English Language nominees.
- The Overlooked category has by far the best overall selection of films.
