It was eligible in 2015, 2016, and 2017 was it's final year of eligibility, regardless of availability.

I guess the same applies to Birdboy (2015), which had its first limited runs in 2017 and only now becomes a little more widely available via home video releases (US: March, France: June). What a shame.

Actually, historically I've ignored the initial year of release in circumstances like these, where the listed screenings were limited to festival screenings and the film didn't receive official release in its country of origin until a subsequent year. So Birdboy is eligible for 2018.

Mary Poppins definitely isn’t as it had wide release for two weekends in 2018. Looks like Night is Short had tiny theatrical release with DVD release in January so should be eligible.

Thanks. Nothing else to add since I suggested it for nearly everything. Just wanted to know what worked best for you.

I'm guessing The Tale is not going to be eligible this year. While it hasn't had a theatrical or DVD release, it got its HBO premiere last May and doesn't seem slated for any further expansion. I blame Game of Thrones for taking a year off and thus me not having an HBO month last year.
