Is everything that happens in the furniture store contained in a single tracking shot?
I believe it is. I definitely remember no cuts when the camera looks out the window because I knew that crowd was coming upstairs before there would be an edit. Also, the close-up of the gun is part of that single take.

I think the opening image has a pull all its own, with the dazzle of the airplane and the hypnotic water that settles you into the film's rhythm.

Cool, second! Yeah, the opposing floor and sky shots that bookend the film are excellent but I'm in on Crib.

They Shall Not Grow Old

Best Doc

Was this in 3-D? Thinking about going this weekend and attempting to decide if it's worth scheduling around those showings.

I’d go see it but they exclude it from A-List at AMC.

Is that region specific? It looks like I can make it one of my reservations.

My screening was in 3-D. It was a cool concept, but I was only mixed on it. I am sure it will be eligible in 2019 as well.

I saw in 3D as well. Jackson is one of the only filmmakers I trust to use 3D beyond the gimmick-ness of it. And there are couple parts of this film that are excellent. But I’m mixed as well. It’s prob 45 minutes too long.

Mine was 2-D which i think made some of the effects look quite odd (faces seemed superimposed on the bodies). Have issues with is as well, but I appreciated the arc and the insight and the usage of the original sound and footage.

Yeah that happens with the 3D too, some of the faces looked cgi to me.
