Half of Ragnarok was worthy of having been nominated! The opening bit with the chain. The play reenacting the death of Loki. Valkyrie walking away from the explosion of the orgy ship. The fight against Hulk, with its jokes, and Loki's reactions. Taika Waititi anytime he says anything! Jeff CINECAST!ing Goldblum! :'(

And what about all the jokes in the LEGO Batman movie? So many jokes...

After the first two categories I thought this was going smoothly, nothing about the winners was bothering me, but then you people voted for Willem Dafoe. Shame on you all, at this rate we'll never get the Michael Stuhlbarg KGB spy thriller I deserve.

I take it you were undeserving of The Shape of Water...

I love that you go the trouble of adding these stats. How do you even research them?

That's the movie that made me want to see Stuhlbarg get a whole film to himself. Like Tinker Taylor, but Russian.

The walls of my house are plastered with Filmspot-related index cards and post-it notes, with push-pinned threads connecting them in a beautiful web.

Probably not great...

And the Filmspot for Best Score goes to ...... Jonny Greenwood for Phantom Thread!

Jonny Greenwood, Phantom Thread — 47.3%
Benjamin Wallfisch and Hans Zimmer, Blade Runner 2049 — 18.2%
     Hans Zimmer, Dunkirk — 13.8%
Alexandre Desplat, The Shape of Water — 11.5%
John Williams, Star Wars: The Last Jedi — 9.2%

Greenwood's 47.3% of the vote isn't quite as impressive as when he won for There Will Be Blood in 2007 (54.8%) but is more impressive than when he won for The Master in 2012 (30.9%). I wonder what he'll win for in 2022.

Up next, Best Debut Feature! The nominees are:

- COLUMBUS
- GET OUT
- LADY BIRD
- LADY MACBETH
- RAW

Surprisingly close on Soundtrack.

Phantom Thread is the biggest gap in my viewing.
