Haha, well, I have a big menacing black actor with slightly crazy eyes in my mind for that role, so I was way off. I can't think of his name though, or think of something he's in to be able to look it up... :/

Avery - Fred Thompson
Eddie Lomax - Noah Emmerich

Those are the other two I definitively have in my head while reading.

Hmm. I've finished the first book, and don't think I ever promised reviews of both medium's. Do people want a book review in addition to a review of the film? I think my plan was just to do the movie after consuming both, but would be open to changing.

Thoughts?

I think you'll inevitably end up reviewing the book implicitly as part of your review of the film, so no real need to do it separately ... unless you want to lock it your reaction before the film warps it slightly.

Just write about the film and refer to the book as necessary.  8)

You can do what works best for you, but I might ask questions about the adaptation since I tend to focus on the script and you will have the freshest possible take on speculating why they did things differently from the novels and if that was a good or bad idea.

I agree with this.

I think you should start a new blog for the project where you review both films and books separately. Then, in another part, you talk about them respective to the adaptation nature of the movies and the choices they make and you compare both media. You should have a multi dimensional points system where quality of adaptation and improvements on the book would be categories. With colourful graphs updated in real time. And lots od screenshots from the movies everywhere. Actually, now that I think about it, you should definitely do interviews of movie crews and actors and top them off with a three day bonanza session with Grisham that culminates in his Top 5 adaptations of his own works.

Anything less would be just lazy.

This project has been delayed since I wasn't able to watch anything at home since my Blu Ray player broke. Well I have the film on order from the library once again.

I have also held off on even starting The Pelican Brief, but hopefully I will be jumping into that one soon too and we'll get some progress on this project this summer.
