So for the year of 2019 I have included some films with an IMDB year of 2018, but that was because I would not have had a chance to see them then. So here are the 53 films I am considering ranked, with the score I gave them at the time. At the top I have shuffled some around as I think I was overly generous/harsh on some of the films.

I will say I have got harsher with my scores as the year moved on.

Surprise of the year: Dora and the Lost City of Gold

I had so much fun with this in the theater. A strong, multilingual, Latina lead with a particular respect for ancient cultures. Also, it's a film that knows exactly what it is, and riffs off of the television show in fun ways.

I'd love to know the cinematic symbiosis that would occur if we watched movies together. We could teach each other a few things about a slightly different way to look at movies.

Also, I'd like to see how this adjusts once you catch up with A Hidden Life.
