10. Nausicaa - The best, and probably least watched Miyazaki film.

9.  Pixote - The best film ever made using non-professional actors.

8.  Naked - There was a time in my life where this film could describe me perfectly.

7.  Ballad of Narayama - One of those movies that forever burn into your mind.

6.  Chuchelo - A very personal film for me.

5.  Andrei Rublev - Tarkovsky's best and most accesible work.

4.  The Isle - Kim Ki Duk's best.

3.  Autumn Marathon - The best movie about male sexuality ever made.

2.  Together - Not many movies can make me smile throughout fewer still can make me tear up, this one can do both.

1.  Woman in the Dunes - I am yet to meet a person who would outright dislike it.

10. Nausicaa - This movie is greatly overlooked.  It is (almost) the best Miyazaki and it is criminally unseen.  If you have not seen this joyful, imaginative, character-perfect, political fantasy with probably the most complete back story Miyazaki ever wrote, PLEASE GET THIS AND WATCH IT IMMEDIATELY.  If not, I might be required to conduct a Hercules campaign.

9.  Pixote - I would love to watch it, but it is so difficult to find.  Not in Netflix, not in my library.  Until it is found, I promise to watch Streetwise, but this film is a must on my list.

8.  Naked - There was a time in my life where this film could describe me perfectly.  When you were born, perhaps?

2.  Together - Do you mean the 2002 Chinese or the 2000 Swedish film?

1.  Woman in the Dunes - Okay, it's on my queue.

Also, one other I must put on my list: Redbelt  It's a Marmet film, and it is an excellent character driven film.  It will certainly be on my top 100 next year.

There needs to be a team effort here

9.  Pixote - I would love to watch it, but it is so difficult to find.  Not in Netflix, not in my library.  Until it is found, I promise to watch Streetwise, but this film is a must on my list.

Its worth hunting down, check out Babenco's other great film Kiss of the Spider Woman, it is on netflix.

8.  Naked - There was a time in my life where this film could describe me perfectly.  When you were born, perhaps?

Or when I am in the Filmspotting chat room!

2.  Together - Do you mean the 2002 Chinese or the 2000 Swedish film?

The Moodyson film from 2000, he also made F*cking Amal and Lilja-4-Ever both great.

1.  Woman in the Dunes - Okay, it's on my queue.

Let me know if you liked it, I have a lifetime project of making everyone here watch this

On my netflix queue

He means the 2000 one by Lukas Moodysson, who he champions. I can't find any of his stuff when I go looking ...

Based on their lack of support in the Top 100, I'd have to go for:

1. V for Vendetta
2. Witness for the Prosecution
3. Das Experiment
4. After the Wedding
5. Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.

In no order:

Attack the Gas Station!
13/Tzameti
Role Models
The Butcher Boy
Event Horizon -- I know everyone I talk to hated this, and I seem to be a fan club of one, but I love the movie, what can I say.

A few movies that should be mentioned is (in no order)

Tarkan vs. the vikings (a hillarious movie that combines Asterx with barbarians)
Rogue (a really nice Jaws rip-off but filled with intense)
Hard Target (John Woo does the best he can in Hollywood)
Santos vs the Martians (Makes you wonder why? Really funny)
The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert (Now this is the way to use Abba music not as in Mamma Mia)
Joe versus the Volcano. (a really enjoyable movie that deserves more credits and Tom Hanks is sometimes really funny)
