Anything weird happen with anyone's bookmark to this site? Usually I either open a new tab in Google and it comes up as my most visited site, where I click that link. On my phone, I only need to press in the address bar and the first site I see in the dropdown is the forum. Both of those went away. Also, the favicon is the Google "G" logo. It's like it was erased from my history.

On August 18th, the forum's hosting provider is making a required update that's likely to bring down the forum for a bit ... and likely render it unusable after that. Should that happen, I'll be able to revert the change, and then we'll have a few weeks to upgrade the forum software to make it compatible with the new requirements.

The hosting provider aborted the update because, as expected, "things didn't look right."

What that means is there will be no disruption of service today, but I'll still need to take the forum down this weekend to perform an upgrade.

It's this season again. The hosting provider is going to attempt to move us to PHP 7.4 on May 12, but the current forum version (SMF 2.0.17) is only compatible up through PHP 7.3. So we'll have some brief forum downtime coming soon for another forum upgrade, possibly this weekend. I'll keep you posted.

I was just trying to decide what movie to watch tonight, and I tried my old bookmark for this forum. It didn't work. Heartbreaking. I'll still check in every time I can.
