I get a reluctance to watching this, but if these  two nominations don't happen it's because of the flaw in our system where we're not required to watch any of the films.

Either that, or it is just possible to watch it and only be mildly impressed by both those elements (I don't think it's the strongest performance or the best scene in the film).

I mean, I guess all things are possible. I watched The Nest and am still not convinced Carrie Coon is ever the best choice for a role.

I liked the film a lot and still probably wouldn't consider it for Best Actress, though I don't yet know who will be my nominees.

I watched Sound of Metal last night and don’t understand the acclaim for Riz Ahmed’s performance. It would seem that these things remain annoyingly subjective.

There's also a Best Scene (Dramatic) and a Best Line, but I don't see this getting enough viewers to be in contention and posting the scene and line would only lessen its impact for the few that do.

The NRSA scene will probs make my ballot, doubt the Best Actress nom gets there. Not sure about Ahmed, I liked him in the film, but also think the film is not good, so likely will avoid it.

I don't like that movie and think the performance is cliche teenage sadness. Haven't most of us seen this? It was kind of big in the summer, if I remember correctly.
