No. They were produced outside of Iran. I get why some people include them, but I don't consider them part of Iranian cinema as I think both are very much informed by Western culture through the eyes of an Eastern director no longer in his homeland.

Taxi (Jafar Panahi, 2015)
Jodaeiye Nader az Simin / A Separation (Asghar Farhadi, 2011)
Tehran Taboo (Ali Soozandeh, 2017)
Se rokh / 3 Faces (Jafar Panahi, 2018)
Forushande / The Salesman (Asghar Farhadi, 2016)
Sonita (Rokhsareh Ghaemmaghami, 2015)
Ta'm e guilass / The Taste of Cherry (Abbas Kiarostami, 1997)
Lerd / A Man of Integrity (Mohammad Rasoulof, 2017)
Nahid (Ida Panahandeh, 2015)

I suspect Iran as a country has one of the best average scores for me, though those two at the bottom I really didn't care for. It also benefits from having the only director that I know of working today who shares a name with an iconic Disney villain. Don't know any directors named Ursula or Gaston, but we do have good ol' Jafar (as long as he's "free" anyway).

Please don't do one of these for Bollywood.

India probably has one of the lowest... but one day I will get to the Satyajit Ray marathon (yes I still intend on doing those... just keep getting sidetracked), that might help.

Oh elsewhere, eh? Ahem, ahem.  ;)

I've seen more since I last posted anyway!

I'm counting Turtles Can Fly. It occurs in Iraq, but Iran and Iraq are countries with a lot of ethnic overlap, being majority Shia and have Kurdish minorities. They also fought a pretty bad war. I don't really like Like Someone In Love, Certified Copy, or Everybody Knows all that much anyway.

Didn't include The House is Black because it's a short and hard to compare to the feature-length films.

Offside
A Separation
3 Faces
A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night
The Apple
No One Knows About Persian Cats
Children of Heaven
Taste of Cherry
Close-up
Turtles Can Fly
The Circle
Taxi

About Elly
The White Balloon
Closed Curtain
Crimson Gold
The Colour of Paradise

Persepolis
The Salesman
The Wind Will Carry Us

Sam, I still wish I knew where you found all these! Even with my expanding powers, there's plenty I can't find...
