Haven't seen an Avengers film.
Haven't seen any of those F&F films.
I forget which Hunger Games films I've seen, I'm sure they were fine but nothing special.
Saw the first John Wick, didn't care much for it, never saw another.
Ghost Protocol was the last good MI film, but was already leaning into the stuff I dislike about Rogue Nation. Never saw Fallout.
Haven't seen those Disney films.

Avengers - first movie pretty good, Age of Ultron terrible. Haven't seen the others

F&F - only seen #2, hated it

Hunger Games - all pretty meh, apparently I liked Catching Fire most but I honestly can't remember what happened in which one

John Wick - never seen one

Mission Impossible - never seen any except the first, which I didn't care for

Tangled is maybe my favorite Disney film, though I quite liked Frozen, and Moana is pretty fun too

I am just not one for franchises. LOTR, Star Wars, and the modern Planet of the Apes are ones that I've gotten behind, but LOTR is the only one I'll really go to bat for. And since none of them are listed...well, I...hmph...

Well, LotR came out a decade before the '10s. Unless you're talking about the Hobbit films. I hope you aren't talking about the Hobbit films!

No way, just an example of a franchise I can actually get behind.

The PRINCESS options also give me pause. FROZEN is an easy no. MOANA has a lot of highs ("Shiny" may be the best villain song since "Hellfire") but also a lot of low lows (all of that cringy princess movie commentary by Maui). Meanwhile, TANGLED is fun but forgettable. They're both 7s to me. I guess I will go MOANA.
I don't have an easy answer here either. Frozen has great songs and characters, but Moana has good songs too, plus cultural touches and very funny interactions between Moana and Maui. Mrs. 1SO has proposed we watch all three tomorrow - what else is there to do - and see where things land back-to-back-to-back.

I wanted to love MOANA upon revisit. Unfortunately, the Maui comedy is far more prominent than I remembered. Maybe I would be kinder to TANGLED if it was hand-drawn and released in the 90s. It may be their best paced film of the three and the best paced animated film of the decade.
