Top 5 Hangout Movies

What I especially like here is seeing what everyone thinks qualifies for the list.

The Trip Quadrilogy Memorial List
1. The Breakfast Club
2. Dazed and Confused
3. American Graffiti
4. Swingers
5. Clerks

1. Dazed and Confused
2. The Trip to Greece
3. Rio Bravo
4. Down by Law
5. A Hard Day's Night

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Mystery Train, Before Sunrise, Fantastic Mr. Fox

I think my honorable mentions could possibly be dismissed as unfit of the requirements. The middle story of MYSTERY TRAIN is pretty singular while BEFORE SUNRISE is a romance film (but who said you can't fall in love with the people you hangout with?) and there's probably not enough Mr. Fox/Kylie scenes to justify FANTASTIC MR. FOX.

Too much for me. I don't know what films qualify, and many that I'd name are ones I've just been turned on to. So, I give you my one:

I forgot you like Duck Season. That was an early film for me around here, one where I got a better grasp of the limits of my own tastes. Gimme the Loot is a great pick.

Would the Christmas opener of Fanny & Alexander count? Kind of like Nocturama, where the back half of that one is definitely a hangout movie.

I guess I'd say films with minimal conflict that are mostly about hanging out with a set of characters.

My Neighbor Totoro
Only Angels Have Wings
Daisies
M Hulot's Holiday
Stranger than Paradise

The first hour of F+A definitely counts. I've watched it on its own for that very reason.
