Ah, okay. Lowering the Max votes to less than 5 seems a little weird to me then.

Then I'll stick to my previous method of keeping it to 5 votes and removing the titles that fall to the bottom, whatever that number may be.

Well, there goes all my favorites. At this point its Winnie, The Wind Rises, aaaaaannnnnnd. I know I should say Princess Kaguya, I don't know why, but I feel like that movie will be boring. That's why I keep putting it off. It looks pretty, but is not short and looks like I might be bored. I'm putting this out there so that someone might assuage my fears...or confirm them. Actually, Wolf Children looks like that, too. Please don't think I'm hating, I have nothing to love or hate, I just have so much less time for movies and have so much I want to see. So anyway, time to go Winnie, Wind Rises, and some Pixars, maybe.

Current vote is:

Kubo and the 2 Strings
Mary and Max
My Life as a Zucchini
Song of the Sea
Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse

Same vote this time

Well My Life as a Zucchini is out, so in went Moana and the rest is the same.

Princess Kaguya is so visually beautiful when it works that it makes up for some of the flaws in that film (it can get boring at times, and the animation style doesn't always work for me), but one of the best films I saw over the years at PFF and the scenes that work are truly remarkable. Very much in the hands of a master. Wolf Children is probably the best film on this list, I imagine. I'm for sure voting for Frozen again though, and everyone else should too, I would think.

Kaguya is a masterpiece, but you could possibly find it boring I suppose. It's more of an arthouse film.

Wolf Children OTOH is basically a feelgood movie (a very good one to be clear), they're really not similar at all.

My votes:

Kaguyahime no monogatari / The Tale of the Princess Kaguya
Ookami kodomo no Ame to Yuki / Wolf Children
Moana
Kubo and the Two Strings
Tower

Close call between Tower and World of Tomorrow to replace Mirai for me.

You know, now that I know what they are, I'm going to try to fit them both (Kaguya and Wolf Children) before next Friday. Could be a squeeze, but I'm betting I'll do one Thursday, the other on Friday. It's like I want to, I don't want to, but I want to. I'll change my vote if I think it needs to be changed.

The first 2-3 times I saw Totoro, I didn't get it. It took one additional viewing for it all to click into place for me. Now it's one of my favorites.

Currently 9 films have at least 4 votes. If I make that the minimum requirement, I imagine some voters will move to higher ground to save some of the 10 films currently in danger of being cut.

So we all agree Into The Spider-Verse will run away with this Fury Road style right?
