Degrassi: The Next Generation
« on: February 05, 2022, 10:41:26 PM »
mañana will come back eventually, so I need a place to record some notes for posterity.

3.21 - “Our House” - It’s funny how Sean is kind of Wheels 2.0 — but in like a Whees redemption arc.

What’s Kevin Smith doing here? And do all Americans come off this way in Canada? I apologize.

“Nothing is sacred on this show,” I exclaimed aloud again, with enthusiasm.

Craig’s bipolar storyline is a better version of Revenge of the Sith.

In season three, I was annoyed by Emma and Liberty and wanted them to have a knife fight where only one survived.

Well who’s laughing now, pix? Who laughing now?

I’m sad I’ve haven’t posted more in this thread, but I must reluctantly admit that mañana’s contention this this isn’t Degrassi has so far been true for seasons 5+, which owe more to 90210 or Gossip Girl or some other show where characterization is secondary to conflict. These later seasons of DNG “thrive” on making every character a complete asshole. They seem to be written by people who thought Wheels was the only good character at the tail-end of the origins series.

“I hate it here.”
