Awesome suggestions so far.

I think about this a bit.
I'd definitely like to see

Through the Olive Trees
The Cow
White Zombie
Day For Night (I mean come on!!!)
Weekend
Le Petit Soldat (one of my favorite Godard's....soooo come on)
Don't Look Now (this makes sense, right?!?)
O.C. and Stiggs (this would be great, right?)

yeah, the rest of Wong Kar Wai, Kiarostami, Welles stuff that seems to linger in poor condition or in weak releases.

This is a great Top 5 idea.  My picks:

5)Trafic (not Traffic, which is out on Criterion)

4)Chinatown

3)Sunrise

2)The Umbrellas of Cherbourg

1)The Magnificent Ambersons

Sunrise and Umbrellas Of Cherbourg exist in terrific, Criterion-quality European DVDs.  Sunrise by Masters Of Cinema and Umbrellas by Optimum.  Great transfers, lotsa special features.

Speaking of Umbrellas, I just got back from a Michel Legrand double feature of that and Cleo From 5 To 7.  Not surprisingly, it's even better in the theatre.  Colors! Music! Deneuve!

I'd love to see:

Park-Chan-Wook's Vengence Triology (as a Criterion box set, I already own all three and I'd purchase a box set!)
Bottlerocket
Blue Velvet
The 47 Ronin (I saw this for the first time a few years back and it blew my mind... The only samurai film that rivals Kurasawa)
Dancer In The Dark (Actually I'd love to see any Lars von Trier... De Fem Bespaend would be awesome)
The Up Series. (Seriously, that recent rerelease is HORRIBLE!)
Faces (I swear, this film will never get rereleased in the states.)
Kill Bill. (Seriously. Quentin: get on that promised unrated edit!)
Il Conformiste
In The Mood For Love/2046 Box Set
The Devil's Backbone (perhaps Pan's Labyrinth will refeul interest in del Torro's underrated film)

I am glad to see that "La Haine" and "When a Woman Ascends the Stairs" are finally on their way.

I don't think I mentioned any Von Trier.   I wanted to... EUROPA.

Anything, but make it a region 2 release.

Anything, but make it a region 2 release.

Why not just get a region-free DVD player?

Most of them already are and just require a simple code you can find on the internet.

For God's sakes- give Baraka a Criterion!!

Also, Being John Malkovich and Adaptation. And hell, for that matter, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind!

The Manchurian Candidate would be good, too. I guess that's five...

I thought of another,

Raising Victor Vargas
I already own the short this feature is based on, 5 Feet High and Rising, but it's on a seperate disc.  I think this film deserves a fantastic edition with a High Def transfer and all the trimmings.  I've also got a behind the scenes Doc on 5 Feet High and Rising on the same seperate disc, but it needs to go on a Criterion edition.  I'd also love to hear commentary by Tim Orr, the DoP and another one by Director Peter Sollet, and a third by the two leads.  I haven't bought this in hopes of a better edition surfacing, but I guess that'll never happen.
