I saw it a while ago and I remember liking, though not loving it. I feel I remember it getting worse as it progressed but it was still a lot of fun and both of the leads gave great performances. It pretty much came and went in theaters though, if I recall correctly so yeah it is 'overlooked' I'd say.

I LOVED the tracking shot of Brosnan in cowboy boots and mankini striding to the pool.  And it permanently wormed its way into my heart during the chase scene that featured a song by Asia.

awesome performances in this.The Matador has more character development than most crime/comedy films. It's stylish and funny to boot.
