Yeah, one of them is good.  The other sucks.  Two different types.
You sir, are a very bitter man.

Not bitter.  But I really don't like that movie.

Now, there obviously must be a connection between those two things...right?

Only that Jerry and I have been going around saying "I don't like that color." for the last two weeks, amusing ourselves to no end.  So as soon as I read sdedalus statement, I put Cadillac's voice on it.  It was a knee-jerk reaction.  It was very funny to me.  Sorry.

Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. The clip actually reminded me of this one :)

I am one of the few who thinks Thin Red Line is better than Saving Private Ryan.  Though they are 2 completely different types of films.

I agree but that could be because SPR is great every once and a while but looking at grey carnage for 3 hours is seriously depressing, but yes by the way, I am saying SPR & The Thin Red Line are better films than Apocalypse Now because:

1. I hated Heart of Darkness and any film thats based on it, it just seems like it was written with the aid of a few hallucinogens.

2. Its a heady movie but it does nothing to reveal the struggle that men went through in Vietnam that you cant see done better, ex: Platoon, Full Metal Jacket, or better yet go read The Things They Carried
And so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."

Interesting list, but Starship Troopers and Pearl Harbor better than SPR?  Sorry sir but I just can't agree....

Pearl Harbor, I admit, was a close call.  They're equally inane scriptwise, but Pearl harbor isn't quite as insulting and is a much better, more distinctive looking film.

Starship Troopers, however, is brilliant film.  SPR doesn't hold a candle to it.
