I just read Steffen's post and totally agree on Arlington Road. It is just brilliant. And almost every time I mention this movie nobody seems to have seen it or even heard about it.

I actually saw it in a film class in conjunction with Rear Window.  We watched it over three class days (short periods), and I missed the middle, so I'm not exactly qualified to comment on it.  Prevailing opinion in the class was pretty high on it though.

Great film.
And a truly great script.

The lecture theatre scenes make me cringe. It's a bad film, but still entertaining :)

I really disliked it when I saw it.

I really like Arlington Road. There are some portions which fail to meet expectations, but I think overall its good. I'm also a big fan of Blown Away. Arlington Road and Blown Away are my favorite pair to rent and watch back to back.

P.S. This is my first post on these boards. My film prof from last winter quarter told me about cinecast yesterday, and i'm now adicted to it.

It is a bit too forceful in where it takes the plot, but I really liked it as a whole. It is a little frightening to think that it was made pre-9/11.

This is a great film.  I was totally floored by the ending twist when I saw it originally, and it does hold up on a 2nd viewing.  Great work from Jeff Bridges here, and Tim Robbins and Joan Cusack are especially creepy.  Yes, there are some flaws, but it remains a highly entertaining thriller.

Cheers!

For people who don't really like films, this is probably what they consider a 'great film'.
