I need to see some more Spaghetti Westerns from people who aren't Sergio Leone, stuff like Django and The Great Silence.

Dead Man's Bounty - Not to be missed.

2. Unforgiven (1992)

And yeah, I know, I know ..... it's not fashionable for those who study Western films to like this movie. Luckily, for me, I'm one of those who never studied.

Huh?  It's one of the most academically interesting Westerns ever made.  Like pajetta said, it's the logical end of the genre.  Well, that or Deadwood.
Well, I'm just saying, whenever I posted Unforgiven as one of my fave westerns on other movie sites, it seems like the guys who like those old black & white westerns, they tend to give me alot of crap for it.

Trouble is it has been so long since I have seen most westerns, so I will not claim this as my definitive list.

1. Once upon a Time in the West
2. Unforgiven
3. El Topo
4. The Proposition
5. Dead Man

Honourable mentions: The Man who Shot Liberty Valence; The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Cheyenne Autumn, The Searchers, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Hang 'em High, Pale Rider, Appaloosa.

I will not include any of the samurai films as they are not westerns.

I’ve lied to men who wear belts. I’ve lied to men who wear suspenders. But I’d never be so stupid as to lie to a man who wears both a belt and suspenders.
