How to Upload an Image to the Boards
« on: September 24, 2007, 09:12:27 PM »
Here's how I do it but there are plenty of other ways:

To upload an image, go to http://tinypic.com/
Browse your drive and put in the image you saved in IMAGE

Click UPLOAD IMAGE button.
The system will generate a tag.
Copy the tag and paste it onto the post on the board.  (I use the middle tag generated.)

It's really easy but so is brain surgery if you know how...

Thanks for this; I'll try it.

As a trembling newbie, I freaked out when after I tried to upload an image, a gigantic version of the image filled my entire screen and wouldn't go away. I finally stopped hyperventilating after I managed to delete it.

Since the auto embed videos plug-in upgrade, all you do is copy the URL from youtube and post it.

FYI — You can add height/width specifications inside an img tag in bbcode like so:

Code: {img height=250}http://i35.tinypic.com/2r40kts.jpg{/img}

Code: {img width=250}http://i35.tinypic.com/2r40kts.jpg{/img}

Code: {img width=400 height=200}http://i35.tinypic.com/2r40kts.jpg{/img}

I've replaced the [ ] brackets in the examples with { } brackets, but you get the idea. Here's the full-size image, for reference.

This is especially useful when you're quoting a post that contains an large image.  :)

That's what the width tag is for!
