er... Ultraviolet to watch.

That film has the tendency to make filmspotters ultraviolent.

I have to admit I dont see circumstances arising in which Im so bored as to be sitting down to watch it :)

I don't feel like going to sleep. What should I watch?

A Night at the Opera
Secrets & Lies
The Trouble with Harry
The Silence
Tarzan (Disney)

Tarzan will keep you awake. What a loud film.

A Night at the Opera is probably the best of the bunch.

Most of the others are quieter and more subdued. Not the best thing to keep you awake.

Secrets and Lies is good, but during the climax of the film, one of the characters waves his arms and screams, "Secrets and lies!" which, for me, destroyed the moment and pretty much the film.

What's the general feeling around here about Mike Leigh? I've never seen any of his films, but what I've read about his approach has always intrigued me. Kermode had a positive response to Leigh's latest, Happy-Go-Lucky.

I like his films more on an intellectual level than a gut level, but they are good. They tend to be character studies, so the acting is top notch. I would recommend starting with Topsy-Turvy so if you don't like his directorial style, there are some good songs to get you through it.

Thanks! I'm definitely curious. I'll check it out.

Just checked. Netflix doesn't have Topsy-Turvy yet.   >:(

What would be the next best place to start?
