Show #180 Problem
« on: October 01, 2007, 12:28:26 PM »
Only one of us can see The Darjeeling Limited in advance. Show was going to be:

1. Darjeeling
2. Assassination / Yuma
3. Feedback
4. Top 5

Any ideas? Should we throw in the next Bergman film, or is there something else we should try to review?

Lust Caution? or maybe My Kid Could Paint That?

Or just Bergman.

Hmm... we could do Lust, Caution. That is out now and we have both seen it.

Only I've seen My Kid though... is that in theaters?

Not in Philly, but that's no surprise. I believe that Friday is its first day, so I don't know what the outlook for Chicago is.

I haven't seen any of these movies, but I'd think 3:10 and Jesse James would be plenty of new movie to talk about.

But since you don't seem to have Lust, Caution on the schedule at all, I'd say review that.

The thing is that I really want to review Jesse James and Yuma together... rather than give them each their own segment.

Makes sense to compare them, but do they deserve more than 15 minutes total?  Why not have the discussion about the two films take place over two segments?

Any movie I saw in Toronto at 10:30 at night... I'd rather not spend an entire segment on without getting a chance to re-watch it. Plus, I would rather spend some time on Lust, Caution and My Kid Could Paint That. You and a handful of others might like 28-30 minutes on James and Yuma, and that's great. I have a feeling that most listeners, not to mention the hosts, would get a little antsy.

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have Lust, Caution reviewed than either of the Westerns.  I think it'll be the second Chinese language film to get reviewed in Cinecast/filmspotting history!

I think as far as time sensitivity is concerned, that the westerns can wait seeing as how Yuma already come out and Jesse James is out for the most part. You'd be right on time for Lust and My Kid.
