But to dig in to that a little more, I'll try to articulate what I liked about what was probably my favorite scene in the film:

It's the scene in the kitchen where Casper (who might be this kid's older brother) and a few of the older guys are coyly asking the younger kids about their sexual experiences.
Hey, that's the scene I was referring to.

I'd argue the rest of the film isn't remotely as good as that kitchen sequence.
There's no deceit in the cauliflower.

Seriously.  And inventively so.  I read some of the original reviews last night that complained about it's "MTV style" and I was just sort of dumbfounded.  Three Kings isn't MTV at all.

It's cinema.

So this was my first watching of Three Kings. I really didn't know anything about it, so I didn't have any expectations for it.

Okay, okay, so I have to say, the first 20 minutes or so...it's a little MTV. The music, editing, freeze frames, etc. come on a little strong. I was prepared not to like the movie based on that alone. Luckily, once the story picks up it settles down. The thing is, I would probably love it on a second viewing, now that I know what the movie is. That screenshot is perfect, smirnoff.  ;D

And really, the movie is full of hilarious little moments. The more I think about it, the more I remember.

I've always been attracted to wacky camera work. Everything from Domino to Chung King Express (yes, I just put those in the same sentence). In that sense, Three Kings grabbed me from frame one. Flashy, and blurry, and crooked, etc.

I love the plot. A treasure hunt movie with a twist, taking place somewhere around Kuwait, after the Gulf War. I don't think I've ever seen a movie about the Gulf War other than this one, so being the first it had something going for it right there.
