And with that, all 3 of my films that I sent to the second round have been shot down.  :(

i didn't realize your taste was that bad ;)

and i think you made the right call Val, though i haven't done JS since its initial release, i think you've also undersold TVS

Se7en, Big Night, and Jesus' Son

That's not that bad is it?

i have fond memories of Big Night, i am beginning to doubt i saw JS, i have no memory of it, and you might recall i was not at all a fan of Se7en - so i guess we're 50/50 :)

Oh well, I will be posting my next verdict soon, so I am sure that will be shot down next round.  :(

Well, if you'd seen it, you'd know that JS is better than TVS.

Virgin Suicides...that's the good Sofia Coppola movie right?
-Le Chiffre: You changed your shirt, Mr Bond. I hope our little game isn't causing you to perspire.

-James Bond: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.

Nice writeups, smirnoff, StarCarly, and Valentine — even though Jesus' Son will probably be on my top five list of films I hope oneaprilday will resurrect (and Bobby Fischer would have been on there if it was still eligible).

Don't forget to pick yourselves out a Far East matchup now, if you're interested.  :)
