That seems odd.It was some deal to have the Criterion version as the 2 disc version of the film. It was released concurrently with the single disc edition.Either way.. it was $12 including shipping so I figured, what the heck.Works for me. I was just surprised because I thought the whole point of Criterion was to do a release wtih commentary and critical material that assesses a particular film in terms of it being a "classic".I asked one of my teachers at school about this and he said Criterion has had several deals for new releases in the past. They use to be the DVD distributor for Mirimax for a while (Hence the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and My Own Private Idaho). Fear And Loathing is Universal. You might be thinking of Chasing Amy.

Corndog, you're letting me down left and right today.

Is it any consolation if I told you I bought The New World - Extended Cut and Casino Royale on Amazon?
No, but only because I have not seen them.
Decided for my first Blu-ray I wanted one of my favorites that was also visually stunning.
