I know, it does not make sense.  Here has free trade with the US as well.  There is still a large market for VCDs here which can be bought for $2-5, DVDs are $9 to 20 and then Blu-rays from $50+

Go to the Philippines and they will sell you a 1.5 Terebyte drive with all the movies in HD format.  They laugh at the though of buying blu-ray when they can get 200 movies for the price of 3 or 4 BD disks.

At least in Canada you have Coffee Crisp and the US doesn't

I'm not sure the free trade between the US and Singapore is quite the same as NAFTA. But even still, it's more the proximity that blows my mind, yet companies continue to charge way way more for DVDs and Blu-rays. I think part of the problem lies with distributors coming to a smaller market and then having to also create French packaging, so they punish us Anglos along with the French. Is it not bad enough already that most of the Blu-ray packaging here has both English and French on the spine making everything look stupid and cluttered?

Like or not, Canada is officially a bilingual country. The bilingual packaging is a must. I agree that it looks cluttered, but it's not going away.

I just wish more companies were like Disney. Just release full french packaging in Quebec, and everywhere else give us normal English packaging.

Those of you that picked up the Toy Story blu-rays how are the special features? What is the amount of new stuff on it?

What about franco-Canadians in Ontario and and the Maritimes?

More deleted scenes...

deleted storyboards with vocie overs by the cast....

2 Alternate openings

Cute behind the scene stories done in storyboard form, like the wharehouse scooter races, and costume parties....

Buzz Lightyear being taken into outerspace

there's alot more.. just haven't got to them yet... I think Toy Story has an additional 90 minutes of extras, and Toy Story 2 has around 60 minutes

I saw that set in the store. I haven't seen the movie (I know I should, no need to scold me) but I did think the set itself looked handsome.

I bought Breathless Criterion edition DVD, albeit used, for $15 once before I had seen it simply because of reputation and packaging. Good thing I ended up liking it.
