Pictures of Brad Pitt and... some other guy in a khaki outfit. (Oh wait, it looks like Terrence Malick!)  :)

I am so ready for Tree of Life!
Wow, someone snagged some photos of Terrence Malick? I imagine they will get pulled.

Seems like Peter Jackson will be directing The Hobbit films. This is unfortunate. I was looking forward to seeing another director take on the same world (even Blomkamp would have been interesting) instead of having to wait 30 or more years for a remake. I hope he makes use of GDT's pre-production materials.

We'll see. I wanna see it before I knock. But yea, it would have been nice to have a different director.

I'm just worried about what this would mean for the Tintin sequel.

I'm glad Jackson is doing them.  I hope it works out.

...Beyond wanting a fresh vision of Middle Earth.  Is anyone worried Jackson may not be up to it?  He has gotten progressively worst since Fellowship.

I think it has more to do with the material.  To me, Kong was always a bad idea, and I haven't seen the Lovely Bones yet.

Some rumors over who will star (or who would like to star) in the American version of Girl With The Dragon Tattoo:
Quote
Carey Mulligan, Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman have also expressed interest [in addition to Kristen Stewart] in starring in the adaptation of the Swedish thriller. According to TheWrap.com, Daniel Craig is in talks to star as Mikael Blomkvist, a journalist who's hired to find a woman who has been missing for 40 years.

The New York Times had a piece where they mentioned Carey Mulligan. That scared me because I don't see her in the role AT ALL. I'm a bigger fan of Kristen Stewart than most so I suppose most won't join me in thinking that she could actually be pretty good for the role, which might just call for some lip-biting, though not necessarily hair twirling. Knightley and Portman both have the body type for the character (as does Stewart) though I think most of them might be a bit tallish for someone who is supposed to be 5'. Going to be hard for any of them to quite match Noomi Rapace's capturing (though she is a bit on the taller/older side for the character). Whomever it is, the film basically demands nude scenes 8).

As to Craig as Blomkvist...he seems a bit tough. I don't know if he would offer the vulnerability I see as necessary for the first book anyway.

Haven't seen the film, but Stewart is generally always the right answer. Better than Mulligan anyhow.

I agree 100%. An Education was fine and all, but I'll take Cake Eaters or Speak over it any day of the week.
