Thanks OAD! Sorry I didn't get back to the thread earlier.

Also, thanks to colonel_mexico and verbALs' suggestions, we had a most excellent Ploughman's Lunch this evening.

Prosciutto, a baguette and Wensleydale Cheese made all the difference! I ran out of time at the store to look for pickled onions, but if you look really closely you can see pickled ginger with the sushi. :)

That looks really good!  Glad to have been of assistance.

Made these sandwich wraps yesterday and thought they came out pretty well overall, considering this was my first attempt. I overstuffed them though, so they wouldn't close at the ends. I put pesto in those which worked quite well but I'm looking for more variety in the sauce department. Suggestions?

Sorry is there cheese in the sandwiches? We have Branston's Pickle here that goes well with ham or cheese. If it's mainly salad/ lettuce I'd go with Caesar Salad Dressing or even dip it in humous........or all three. :o  I thought that was what sauerkraut was for.

I've made these before, super easy.

Oh! Thanks ses!  I didn't even think of making my own before. I'll give it a go. :)

Tequila, those look delicious! Are those kidney beans inside? I would add to the list, simple dressings like Ranch or Italian. I also like rice vinegar and olive oil. (Sorry, can't think of anything fancy at the moment. :) )

I rinse the onion and pat it dry before adding the vinegar mixture.  It helps mellow the harshness of the onion, but if you like a stronger onion flavor, no need to do that.

Tequila, if you like olives you could add an olive tapenade or mixed olive spread.  Capers also add a nice brine-y flavor to sandwiches as well.
