Rats.  Not unexpected since I saw in yesterday's paper that he was in a coma, and he's been struggling with his health for years and years.  But still sad.

Eric Rohmer has passed. I almost have tears going.

Now there's no excuse to put off the Six Moral Tales marathon any longer...

I think Woody Allen is the only director I've seen more films from. There's something about the way his dialogue rolls that almost puts me in a trance.

I'm asking around, and discovering that while Eric Rohmer is inarguably a world class filmmaker, most people have not included his works in their cinema education.  We study Fellini, and Bergman and Bunuel but not Rohmer.  I've only seen Claire's Knee myself and tjwells is right, I find the breezy dialogue to be soothingly hypnotic.
