Probably my favorite Lumet scene (mentioned in the Salon.com article posted in the Director's Best thread)...

12 Angry Men - This is how you deal with prejudice.

I know this is based on a play, but to me if I were to be told "direct a scene where a guy screams and everyone turns away from and then have Henry Fonda talk about it," very few people can pull it off like Lumet did in 12 Angry Men.

One of the two founders of my profession and my intellectual hero Lewis Binford died today. Very sad he was a great man.
