I might need to watch Three Days of the Condor and Snow Falling on Cedars this week, along with some Bergman. Or maybe I'll finally catch up with The Emigrants and The New Land.

What are your favorite Von Sydow performances?

I like it. I have an affinity for films that deal with otherwise normal people who possess a super ability so long as the writing can fully explore this. It's why Perfume: The Story of a Murderer is among my favorite films, and one of my favorite horror/thriller movie plots. (Like Unbreakable and Upgrade.)

In my first year in Los Angeles, I got to meet Stuart Gordon at a small gathering unrelated to movies where he was just one of the guests. I remember quite a few in the room had never seen any of his films or didn't even know who he was. What struck me most over that night was how normal he was. He was a director of a couple of films I really loved, but he was just a person with a job like any other. Also, he was the one that night who told the most interesting stories, which I took to be the reason why he was good at his job.

This is nice to hear. He sounds like a good person.

I've still got Stuck in my watchlist. I had forgot why it was there. As his final film I would like to catch up with it.
