I'm in desperate need of a hobby, so I'm going to start a Bond 22 thread.  I'll be updating it as news comes out.  I felt this was an appropriate time since there's been a lot of news as of late.  There seems to be a far amount of fans here, so i thought I'd give it a shot.

Bond 22 -

Plot:
Official Synopsis
QUANTUM OF SOLACE continues the high octane adventures of James Bond (DANIEL CRAIG) in CASINO ROYALE. Betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and M (JUDI DENCH) interrogate Mr White (JESPER CHRISTENSEN) who reveals the organisation which blackmailed Vesper is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined.

Forensic intelligence links an MI6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti where a case of mistaken identity introduces Bond to the beautiful but feisty Camille (OLGA KURYLENKO), a woman who has her own vendetta. Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene (MATHIEU AMALRIC), a ruthless business man and major force within the mysterious organization.

On a mission that leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, Bond discovers that Greene, conspiring to take total control of one of the world’s most important natural resources, is forging a deal with the exiled General Medrano (JOAQUIN COSIO). Using his associates in the organization, and manipulating his powerful contacts within the CIA and the British government, Greene promises to overthrow the existing regime in a Latin American country, giving the General control of the country in exchange for a seemingly barren piece of land.

In a minefield of treachery, murder and deceit, Bond allies with old friends in a battle to uncover the truth. As he gets closer to finding the man responsible for the betrayal of Vesper, 007 must keep one step ahead of the CIA, the terrorists and even M, to unravel Greene’s sinister plan and stop his organization.

I'm not very optimistic about Bond 22, mainly because of its director.  I hate Marc Forster, his movies are cheesy sub-Ron Howard Hollywood prestige pieces.  There's nothing in his work to suggest that he's a qualified action director and the last two times they tried to get legit directors (who weren't really that legit) were Lee Tamahori (Die Another Day) and Michael Apted (The World is Not Enough) which were both sub-par.

I have never actually seen any of his films, so I popped a few into my Netflix queue.  He's always reviewed pretty well though, no?

Undeservedly so.

Mosters Ball was dull, slightly cheesy, and ultimately pointless.
Finding Neverland is probably my least favorite Oscar nominee of the decade.
Stranger Than Fiction is probably his best movie, but it is fairly derivitive, and Forsters direction is probably the worst part of it.
I don't think I'll even bother with The Kite Runner

I second that.  It's a shame to.  It's such a good book.

Although I appreciate everyone's concern about the quality of Marc Foster's body of work, the same could be said about Martin Campbell's non-Bond films.
I apologize to any Zorro fans out there, but the Campbell Zorro movies were pretty awful. Yet, he directed one if the best Bond entries in the entire series (Casino Royale) and a really strong Brosnan (Goldeneye).

I'm a huge Bond fan. Huge. I cannot wait for Bond 22.

Let the Bond debates begin!

Thanks for starting this thread!

-James Bond: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.

Yeah, this is a cool thread!  And a good reminder to finally watch CR
But I wish the public could, in the midst of its pleasures, see how blatantly it is being spoon-fed, and ask for slightly better dreams.
