The only real takeaway there is that Debbie Wasserman Schultz remains a pretty horrible person.

Add Danica Roem to my list of heroes. And, this is the classiest shade-throwing I've ever seen:

When asked about Bob Marshall, Danica Roem said, "I don't attack my constituents. Bob is my constituent now."

So Congressmen can just ask one questions about anything when one appears before the Judiciary Committee?

Well, typically they are allotted an amount of time, not a specific number of questions. But yes.

Our newspaper this weekend carried an interview with Masha Gessen, a journalist and activist of Russian origin who today lives in New York. After the election a year ago she published her Six Rules For Survival in The New York Review of Books. I like the clarity they convey.

I went to the doctor the other day and it litterally cost me less than 5$. My prescription allowed me to get painkillers for 1.5€. Ditto for the family of immigrants next to me who could barely speak a word of the language. I am going to tell that story the next time one of my American friends asks me why I don't try to get a job in NY for a couple of years. There are times when I love this forsaken sodding continent.

Yeah, I just lost my insurance because I and my family make too much money to receive that assistance now.  Ideathy is still on it because she's under 18, but next year she'll probably lose it.   If we want insurance now, my wife would have to quit her almost full time job and find another, I'd have to quit helping the homeless and work full time, my son will eventually get insurance through his job at Fed Ex, maybe in February and my other daughter isn't able to work long enough to get insurance from her employer due to her Asperger's.

I'm so glad for Obamacare, because we had two solid years on insurance, which improved all of our health.  But let no one think it's a sufficient system.  It's just better than what we had.
