In response to the student demonstration over the past week (regarding the Parkland shooting), the Florida legislature, instead of addressing issues regarding the death of children, immediately rejects the ban on assault weapons:
https://edition.cnn.com/2018/02/20/us/florida-legislature-weapons-ban/index.htmlI'm not surprised, to be honest.
Look, I don't want to do this everyday, but when I woke up this morning, this isn't the headline I wanted to read either. I told myself not to talk about it, don't politicize the matter, but when I did that, inside, I'm going crazy and furious, and it just makes me want to talk to somebody about it and ask, "How could they? How could YOU, America?" I think me and a lot of young Americans demand an answer.
I mean, do they at least stop and say there might be another way to decrease the chances of another shooting? They do not. Do they suggest another bill that would not be in conflict of the second amendment? They do not. They just flat out came out and say, "Screw you kids. You're on your own."
That's all I'm going to say. Now, I'm going to wash the disgust from my mouth, and you (politicians) can just let a few more Americans die before you decide. I guess we'll be having this discussion again (and again) in another month or two.
