Going to a live recording of my favorite podcast "Doughboys" tonight. They'll be talking about Taco Time, a local chain (I'm quite fond of their crispy chicken burrito).

I've only been to Taco Time a couple times and they were horribly greasy.  My kids like it, but I won't take them there. :)

Where Should We Begin? is incredibly engaging and insightful. Each episode is a real therapy session with Esther Perel and a couple she's counseling. It's kind of amazing.

The current line-up

Long time subscriptions, and I listen to every episode:
A Damn Movie Podcast
Chewin' It with Kevin and Steve
Comedy Bang Bang
Common Sense with Dan Carlin
Dan Carlin's Hardcore History
Film Sack
Radiolab
Savage Lovecast
The Joe Rogan Experience
This American Life
You Made it Weird

Long time subscriptions that I pick and choose from:
Battleship Pretension - topic dependent
Filmspotting - I generally listen after I've seen the film being discussed
Kevin Pollack Chat Show - (I can only take so much of his interview style, so it's very geust dependant)
The JV Club - I listen more for the host than the guests to be honest. Janet Varney has a great laugh
The Nerdist - I listen to the hostfuls, but otherwise it's VERY guest dependant. Celebs on press tours usually... some are better than others. Best in recent memory: Tom Cruise, Ron Perlman

Relatively recent subscriptions I'm loving and catching up with (or have caught up) from episode 1
Guys We F****d: The Anti-Slut Shaming Podcast - they girls are fantastically open. Great chats. The epsiodes where they actually bring in "guys they f****d" to talk to are always fun. Shit gets real. It's a great show.
My Dad Wrote a Porno - Start from the beginning and just laugh your way through it. Love the hosts. Their being English makes it better for me.
My Favourite Murder - Two woman take turns recapping famous murders. The stories are real and brutal, but they keep it light. I listened to Casefile for a while, which is similar material but a dry super thorough presentation. Excellent but not something I'll be in the mood for too often.
The Fighter and the Kid - MMA talk and general BS. I just enjoy the hosts.
Beautiful Anonymous - The nature of the show makes episode quality vary a lot, but there's the odd good one.

Shows I enjoyed but that seem to be dead or rarely active:
Making it with Riki Lindhome
I Was There Too
Smart People Podcast

Series that I enjoy, and hope for new seasons of:
Serial/S-Town or whatever it is
The Tobolowsky Files

Miscellaneous
Big Brown Breakdown - more MMA talk
Crybabies - guest submit a list of things than make them cry (songs, movies books), and then they discuss it and we hear a clip. kind of interesting sometimes
Frontline & The Frontline Dispatch - journalism

Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast - I listen to an episode now and then. Gilbert and Frank are great with each other. I wish I knew more guests.

New subscriptions I haven't heard an episode of yet
Invisibilia
Maltin on Movies
Modern Day Philosophers with Danny Lobell
The Next Picture Show

Shows I bailed on lately:
The Adventure Zone - D&D podcast... they said it doesn't require you to know or like D&D to listen to... I still didn't enjoy it  though.
Katie Couric podcast - she has good guests, but I find the interviews to formal.... too interviewy.
Philosophize This - Required more concentration than my podcast listening habits allowed for

I'll be waiting to see if and when you get fed up with "My Favorite Murder". I was so into it at first and watched it go downhill in a big way.

Super excited for "R U Talkin R.E.M. Re: Me?", the follow-up to "U Talkin U2 2 Me?". I don't care a whole bunch about R.E.M. (although I am going to reacquaint myself with their music, at least up to Green), I just love that Scott Aukerman/Adam Scott podcast magic.

Who else listens to Crooked Media podcasts?

Pod Save America: the 2 eps a week I get of this are the most anticipated in my feed right now. I love the mixture of opinion and explanation, and how the opinion breaks down into those who can step back and take a look from a distance at what is happening to our country right now and Jon Lovett's passionate rants.

Lovett or Leave It: Lovett's weekly offshoot tries for a more comic take of the same stories and occasionally hits gold, but it really depends on the guests, who too often don't know how to be spontaneously funny about the current political horror show. Still, "OK Stop" and the 'Rant Wheel" are highlights of my week.

I keep looking at episodes in the other shows, but none of them grab my interest. I listened to a couple of episodes of Keep it!, but the elitist, nit-pick bitchiness of Ira Madison III and his guests is off-putting, so I stopped.

I recently bailed on Maltin on Movies, which used to have a great format. Maltin and his co-host would take an actor or genre and discuss a Classic, a Turkey and a Buried Treasure. Now it's a celebrity interview show co-hosted by Maltin's daughter, who seems like a nice person but as an interviewer she gets on my nerves.

Filmspotting
The Pitch
Common Sense with Dan Carlin
Hardcore History with Dan Carlin

The Tim Ferris Show
The Joe Rogan Experience
The Jordan B Peterson Podcast
This American Life
Freakonomics
Doug Loves Movies (an episode with fake Mark Wallberg or fake Werner Herzog)

Bulletproof radio
Fitness Confidential
