The latest episode of my podcast is up- this week Simon and I go through a mostly great week in TV, spend most of 10 minutes "discussing" the huge exception to that this week, Downton Abbey, and spotlight Justified's latest, "Harlan Roulette". Spoiler alert- Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neal McDonough are awesome. Then Tyler Smith from Battleship Pretension and More Than One Lesson comes over to the DVD Shelf to talk about The Critic, the unfortunately short-lived '90s animated comedy.

Shows covered this week: New Girl, Top Chef: Texas, 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, Archer, The Vampire Diaries, Grimm, Supernatural, Fringe, The Fades, An Idiot Abroad, the Super Bowl, The Voice, Luck, Lost Girl, and HIMYM.

The new episode of Mousterpiece Cinema is up on Sound on Sight; this week, Michael Ryan and I take a look at the 1985 Disney film The Black Cauldron. I'd love to tell you that I was bowled over by the movie, but that would be a lie. However, I went in with very low expectations, so I wasn't exactly let down and Michael fought the good fight for this oft-forgotten animated movie. Check it out!

Here's the latest installment of my TV podcast, The Televerse. This week, my cohost and I spotlight Fringe, Spotlight of Shame the hell out of Downton Abbey, and probably spend too much time discussing The Voice. Then I got a chance to interview Kevin Chapman, who's currently playing Detective Fusco on Person of Interest. Chapman also was one of the leads on Brotherhood, played recurring character Terrence on Rescue Me, and has a long film resume including Mystic River and, my personal favorite, Black Dynamite. Check it out if you get the chance!

This week, we cover: New Girl, The River (pilot), Justified, Suburgatory, Happy Endings, Top Chef: Texas, 30 Rock, Archer, The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, The Fades, An Idiot Abroad, Downton Abbey (Shame!), Luck, Castle, Lost Girl, The Voice, and Smash.

I didn't know that much TV existed.

And you've touched upon why I stopped posting in the movie threads a while back. So much to see, so little time- and when the more critically acclaimed films take forever to open near you (if ever), making the switch to TV's pretty much the way to go.
