City Of God - As close to perfect as I've seen. Jaw droppingly powerful.
The Life Aquatic - Only saw it last month, 100% fun with a poignant central performance. I get it.
Napolen Dynamite - Tried to hate this hype-propelled curiosity. Cried laughing instead.
Team America - Nailed everyone on both sides of the political divide. Tim Robbins' best performance ever.
Amelie - The definition of gallic charm. Perfectly executed, utterly loveable.

Some others I really liked that haven't been mentioned by others yet ... Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Bourne Identity and Supremacy, Kung Fu Hustle, Blow, Zoolander, Punch Drunk Love, Traffic, Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind ...

I'm starting from 2000 on:
1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind   Currently my second favorite film of all time.
2. City of God - Need I say more?  I don't think I've met anyone who wasn't blown away by this film.
3. Olboy - did people just forget this film or did they intentionally leave it off their list?
4. The Squid and the Whale - Really hit hard with me.
5. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - Wes Anderson's greatest film.  Well, maybe Rushmore beats it but definitely better than Tennenbaums.
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."
