Tough one between BM & CTHD but went with the latter due to the technical mastery of that epic over the relatively small drama of BM but they are both fantastic as are Lust, Caution and The Ice Storm.  My main problem with Ang Lee is the emotinal distance I always feel with his films in a Brechtian fashion yet goes against the fact that the films are incredibly focused on the emotonal lives of the characters.

Brokeback Mountain, just edging Lust, Caution and Crouching Tiger.
