Not only is The Kite Runner a criminally underrated film, but it may be the freshest visual movie I have seen in a long, long time, if that makes any sense.

its quite the calculated Oscar whore.

Ugh, I really dislike that criticism.

Josie & the Pussycats is kind of underrated.  In fact, it has what I think is one of Parker Posey's best performances.

I haven't seen the movie in a long, long time. Maybe I should revisit it - I was going through a Parker Posey phase (pretty much saw everything from Party Girl to Broken English over the summer).

I can't think of a single genre which doesn't contain a movie that I think is good. Which is a complicated way of saying that I think all genres can be viable for movie goodness.

I would agree, but then there's the genre of...

When you have en entire genre that has yielded likely one decent film with the majority of the rest being terrible, I'd call it pretty irrelevant.
I'd love to see someone prove that it is proportionally different from comedy.
Generally, there is at least one fantastic comedy released a year amongst a plethora of shit. However, there has never been one fantastic zombie film released...ever... except for Shaun Dawn of the Dead (1978), which is one of the best movies ever made.
I couldn't agree more.

You almost had it correct.

Looking at this list, I would have to say that he's got you there.

My genre theory professor would say that's not a genre. Hey, college taught me somethin!  :o

It's a sub-genre, or at least as much of one as 'Zombie Film'.
