A scene analysis of the first scene between the male and female leads of The Thing.

It's projects like that which discouraged me from taking film classes at university.

no way!  totally fun!
But I wish the public could, in the midst of its pleasures, see how blatantly it is being spoon-fed, and ask for slightly better dreams.

Like I always say, and I totally stand by it: to each his/her own. If that's what floats your boat (or your possible future in film) then go for it dude. I was just never excited by the idea of getting grades for analyzing movie scenes. That's the kind of stuff I bicker about with friends over a beer or here at Filmspotting. Being told to do that in return for grades sucks all the fun out of it.
-Le Chiffre: You changed your shirt, Mr Bond. I hope our little game isn't causing you to perspire.

-James Bond: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.

for sure, i'd do that assignment on the boards.  school mostly blows, though there are good bits, i always prefer doing things not assigned

The notion of learning, gathering knowledge and becoming cultivated is awesome, but school often fails to make to make it fun.

hell, it usually fails to deliver on the knowledge and culture front, too (in any meaningful way)
