Honestly, I've never heard of Orlando, but I voted to keep it and get rid of Forrest Gump, because that movie is crazy overrated. :P

And listed "A League of Their Own," under "League of Their Own," gave me a scare!  I thought it didn't make it after I passed the "A's". :P
As we said, it's not about the value of Orlando, it's that it isn't American.

I'm really regretting not putting Bringing Out The Dead at #1.

  I did - it didn't help.
Hey, nice marmot!

There was so little overlap between the films people put as their first choice, that there was no room left for the second choices.  Bringing Out the Dead was one of eight films to receive two combined votes — neither of which were first place votes.  None of those eight made the cut.  (The others were Bound, Flirting with Disaster, Go, Henry Fool, Independence Day, Reversal of Fortune, and The Crow).

Incidentally, Forrest Gump received five combined votes, but none of those were first place votes, leaving it the last film out (at least for now).

Your votes are still coming in (I hope), but I'm ready to declare Forrest Gump the most divisive film of the 1990s.

I should have said, "...the most divisive American film."  Clearly, at an international level, Orlando is far more divisive.  :P

" American Beauty      vs                Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me  "

Hmm... well I've never seen either of these... I just have a dislike of American Beauty because Sam disliked it so much.  I've never watched any Twin Peaks, bur I would like to eventually... will watching the movie first ruin it for me?  If so, could I be assigned something else, please?  I'd just watch all the episodes of the show, but school is kind of insane.

I've never seen Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me either, and I have the same question about that matchup as you.  While we wait for someone else to chime in on that issue, how do you feel about taking Junior's rejected matchup instead:  Ed Wood vs. Joe vs. the Volcano?

I wouldn't watch Fire first. I say take a new match up.

Menace II Society is in the first group of 64 films, in a yet to be determined matchup against Julien Donkey-Boy.

I preferred Boyz N the Hood, myself.
