Man, what do you have against Crooklyn?

Looking through this thread, I'd forgotten what a shithead zarodinu was.

I need to rewatch Do the Right Thing as I first saw it in my rebellious years. Haven't seen any of his other films.

Is Oldboy that bad? Even a boring shot for shot remake would have to be somewhat entertaining.

It has a tone closer to a graphic novel like Sin City, with broader performances and an incest subplot not in the original where a father is sleeping with his children that culminates in a first-person shooter type shot where he visits each family member - wife, daughter, son - who undress for Dad when he walks in the room. It’s not boring, it’s such a gleeful treatment that it’s embarrassing.

Man, what do you have against Crooklyn?
It was a slice of life, but I found the style so aggressive and unrealistic that they never register as characters. With Do the Right Thing the characters are playing types but they’re also given depth. Crooklyn never breaks through when it cries out for an urban authenticity.
