Definitely the strongest lineup we've had so far.

Absolutely. Ultimately, I love Annie Hall more than anything else on the list.

I know most people will go Godfather or Annie Hall but I really like Patton. Mainly because I think George C. Scott gives one of the best male performances, if not the best male performance, of all times.

And it was based on a Coppola script as an added bonus. Maybe we should do threads like this for acting someday.
I picked Godfather 2 because it's awesome.

The Godfather - unlike Kane it actually is the greatest American movie of all time.

This is the most unbelievable lineup ever. These are excellent, excellent films.

Without disrespecting the others on this list (I love of them anyways), I  picked The French Connection because it's the kind of film that resonates with me. I'm a cop/gangster/investigation  movie kind of guy.

I'm out of breath just from reading that list...

-James Bond: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.

Sunrise is better than both.

Wow, as a firm believer in Woody Allen not being all that, I think Annie Hall as a best picture winner is a joke. Especially in a year in which Star Wars came out, and single handedly changed cinema forever.

But this is not a thread for negatives. I voted for Godfather because it holds up so well it would probably win Best Picture now (same cannot be said for most of the others)

I love Annie Hall, but comparing it to these other movies it's no contest.  I would consider at least 5 or 6 of them to be greater than Annie Hall.
