I already have the two previous versions, don't think I'll be getting the Blu-Ray.  The 400 Blows is the only other one I already have.

I've been wanting to buy Contempt for awhile, I'm glad I waited.

I really like that they're going to be priced the same regardless of format, though.
I actually don't have anything on that list, except for the non-Criterion Bottle Rocket, and that isn't worth replacing.

I think Lionsgate is starting to do that too.
Anyway, I hope they don't confine themselves to their most popular titles with this.

Criterion on Blue-Ray?

My mouth is watering. There DVDs are already very nice looking. Can they their Blue-Rays better than the more mainstream Blue-Rays? I doubt it, but the quality of the films are better than usual anyways.

I doubt they'd do it if they didn't think they could show a worthy improvement. If nothing else, it should mean fewer discs. However, they've always said that they will remain committed to SD for as long as their customers still want them.

Good. Here I am getting excited about Blue-Ray Criterion and I don't have a Blue-Ray player.
The notion of the Blue-Ray Criterions are being priced the same way as their standard DVD's is encouraging though.

Looking at the number of poor Blu-Ray transfers reviewed at DVD Beaver I imagine Criterion will be able to stand out.

Provided the price for that manchine drops. I'm into video games enough to spend that much money on it, even though I'm told it's a good product.

Its the cheapest and best Blu Ray player you can buy

So from the stand point as only a Blu Ray player, its already worth it for the quality it gives you.
