I almost voted for The Landlord because I'm sure no one else will, I'm afraid no one else has seen it and it bears sight. However, I had to go with Being There.
Still true.

2. Harold and Maude
3. The Last Detail

I used to love love love H&M, but the older I get, the more twee and simplistic I find it.

Harold and Maude

Being There
Bound for Glory

Coming Home
The Last Detail

Shampoo
The Landlord

The Slugger's Wife

I just finished watching the Criterion re-mastering of Harold and Maude and it made me reassess my original rating. Being able to watch and listen to this outstanding film in a near pristine print and crystal clear audio was amazing. If you've only watched the washed out and muddled DVD from Paramount, then do yourself a favor and check out the Criterion. It's well worth the effort!

Ha, this is a great poll that I wish I could vote in. The run of films from Harold and Maude thru Coming Home were such cultural landmarks during my adolescence and teen years (like cover-of-Newsweek significant) that I'm amazed that (a) I've never seen any of them and (b) I didn't know they all came from the same guy. Especially since I'm now such a '70s fetishist. I did, however, see Being There in the theater when it came out and thought it was somewhere between cute and profound. Now I'm on a mission to fill in these gaps. Antares, that Criterion release sounds especially juicy.
