People who give their dog non-dog names. "Cool dog, what's his name?"    "Mark." Instantly no longer a cool dog. It could be a frisbee catching, life saving, German Shepard. Call the dog Paul and it is no longer cool.
Wrong! My gf's dog was a black lab named Dave (may he rest in peace), and he was as awesome as they come.

My dog's name is Jake Jr., or JJ is what we call him. We named him after our cat of all things, whose name was obviously Jake.

Jake is a good solid dog name.  It's not like "Brad" or "Andrew".  I don't think this comes under the heading of Steve's pet peave.

BTW: good thing your cat's name wasn't "Santas Little Helper"

Always makes me want to pull out the Simpsons DVD's.

Sleeping half the day away on my day off.  On the plus side, the extra hours of sleep included a very long plot-heavy dream involving me and characters from Torchwood running around in some sort of adventure with a lot of shooting of stuff (I'm a much better shot with a frickin' laser than with a Glock, I must say) followed by smoochy-face time with Captain Jack himself.  Woot!  Fan fiction before bed FTW!
