Every once in a while I hit a home run.

The fact that my dog has decided her one bone is evil and must be punished through the ignore method. She was chewing on it yesterday when her tooth got caught in a crevice and hurt her. She dropped the bone ran by me, then returned to the bone, nudged it off the bed with her nose and then pushed it under the bed, now she walks by the bed, looks at where the bone is and turns her back on it. That bone never stood a chance.

...driving home in inclement weather, listening to a mix CD that a close friend has made me, being stopped at a stop light, watching the snow gently fall in light of a nearby street light, and realizing how beautiful the world is, how beautiful my friends are, inside and out, realizing how lucky I am to have what I have, and realizing how much love I have in my life, and how much love I have given out to my friends. It was a beautiful moment.

Nice!  What's the track listing of the mix?  What song was playing at that stop light?

It was made by a girl I have been friends with since the summer between High School and College. At one point we both liked each other, but neither said anything and nothing came of it. We don't hang out much anymore because of school, but we do when we can. And I probably still like her but we don't get to hang out but a few times a year now. So there's that story.

...it when you pop in a dvd just to grab a screenshot or something and without meaning to you end up watching most of the movie.

Yes. I love that. I think it's happened twice with The Dark Knight.

The mark of a brilliant film.

I finished the first draft of my book, and most of my second draft.  And I began a day shelter in a suburb of Portland.  There's still more work to do, but the hard part is done.  Most of all, I got a lot of rest after 15 years of 60 hour weeks with almost no breaks.  I'm really recharged.  Someone told me tonight that I sing better after my rest.  I'm not sure about that, but I feel good.  And that's a nice, really different feeling.
