yeah, she didn't come up in my search, either.  thanks, marky!

When my buddy told me about twitter I didn't really get the appeal.  But I've grown quite attached to it.  The only problem is the system is somewhat buggy and you never know when it will not work.  Having said that...

Why do so many people make ALL their @ tweets public?  Like, once in a while, sure, but why subject other followers to an entire back-and-forth conversation with a single person that's better suited for regular old text messaging (or IM or whatever).

All your tweets are always public - its up to you to filter those out by having twitter show you

All @ Replies
@ Replies to the people you're following
or no @ Replies

(I think)

But there are private tweets, too, right?

Quote
@username + message
directs a twitter at another person, and causes your twitter to save in their "replies" tab.
Example: @meangrape I love that song too!

D username + message
sends a person a private message that goes to their device, and saves in their web archive.
Example: d krissy want to pick a Jamba Juice for me while you're there?

yeah - though they are rarely used (at least for me - just 2ice) if imma do that i'll just txt/email someone.  don't think i've ever put anything up there that would need to be "private" - though that may be a matter of debate for a (former?)follower or two.
