I enjoyed my vacation too much.

Yay!  :D  What was the best part?

That is really hard to say.  The Grand Canyon at sunset was breathtaking.  The hike down Canyon de Chelly to a cliff dwelling was pretty cool.  Carlsbad Caverns are unbelievable and the nightly bat flight out of the cave is amazing (thousands and thousands of bats).  Big Bend National Park is a hidden treasure that everyone should visit, who knew that such big mountains and beautiful canyons existed in southwest Texas?  But probably my favorite was Monument Valley.  It is just too beautiful for words.  I will post some pictures in a few days from my trip.

Seconded!

I think I'd love how awkward it'd be, or how awkward it should be.

Hmmm... for the rest of the summer vacation plans include a small 4th party, 2 days in ameterdam, a weekend of music festivals along the east coast, at least one visit to the US Open and (if my passes get sent) my second trip to the Telluride Film Festival.  Prolly sneak a weekend at a friends summer share at the shore as well.  Hmm... if I can arange flights properly I may be able to sneak in a run through Big Bend & 4 Corners (have to land in Farmington, NM i believe).

More Monument Valley

John Ford's Point (shot scenes from both The Searchers and Stagecoach right here)
I didn't pay the $2 to sit on a horse and have my picture taken so I could be like John Wayne, probably should have.  :D

Canyon de Chelly

Spider Rock                                                              Cliff dwelling in the canyon

Petrified Forest National Park
Our home for that night: The Wigwam Motel

Carlsbad Caverns (750 feet underground)

Rainbow at Carlsbad

Big Bend National Park

Lost Mine Trail overlook

St. Elena Canyon on the Rio Grande
