Pics from Kauai trip.
Trundling along in our rented Westfalia.
It seemed like all the good spots on Kauai were at the end of dirt roads.
We found ourselves some nice secluded areas to set up.
Terrific landscapes, no one else around.
And great beaches always just a few steps from camp. But like any place on Kauai
there are feral roosters around (and they DON'T always wait for the sun to come up either). *shakes fist*
Nothing too exciting in the way of wildlife. Mostly just cute stuff.
One exciting moment, an ambitious green lizard shows off his appetite!
There's lots of these great, rusty old sugar mills dotted all over the island.
The beaches were great, but for me the higher elevation stuff was the real highlight.
It made for great hiking!
Especially when at the end of your hike, in the middle of the jungle, you're greet by kittens!
Dunno how they got there, but they sure were skittish (until the snacks came out).
Overall, Kauai was great for the mother nature side of things. If I wanted a more layed back
trip though I think I'd head for one of the major islands and rent a condo for a week or something.
